Feb 02, 2010 12:46 | #5 Thanks for the comments. Here's how it's done. First, mix up some food colouring in water (in this case blue). Next pour some olive oil on top of the water (the oil will float on top). Agitate the oil using a spoon or something similar. I then used a Canon 100mm macro lens to take the photograph with a single flash mounted above the water and pointing down. The image is a crop from the original.
