I had some grease smears on my 5D sensor after using the Arctic Butterfly, so i got some Orange Sensor Swabs and a bottle of VDust Plus and followed the instructions to the letter using 3-4 drops of solution across the end of the swab, but its leaving smears across the sensor, what am i doing wrong? any advice please.

quadphoto,
You need to get a botle of Eclipse. You picked up lubricant from the sensor or the perimeter and spread it across the sensor's surface. The liquid you used is not going to remove it, so you need a solvent like Eclipse.

Visible dust makes a product called Smear Away, it is made for that purpose. It is compatible with the orange or green swabs you are presently using.
