Do you work for the team? Or just got excellent seats?

#2 has good action, although I'm never a fan of croping out body parts. (Same on Kronwall's foot) I assume you just don't like cropping horizontally?

Williams looks more like he hurt himself again in #4 ;)

Nice shots. #2 and #6 are my favorites. You can really tell that Howard is bracing himself (as well as closing his eyes) for the save in #2, and I like the intensity in Kronwall's face.

Do you mind sharing what lens you were using? Unfortunately for me, my local NHL team doesn't even allow using cameras with detachable lenses... Although I'm not sure if it's enforced..

Wow, exposure looks excellent on these. Great shots as well.

I can't believe they're not strobed. They really seem to POP!

Amazing. I would love for you to look through some of my shots on flickr and give me advice. Keep in mind that the mites stick together like a swarm of bees around the puck...

jf, those are some quality images!

Dave, I took a look at the 1st two pages on your flickr and they seem a bit under exposed. I'm not sure of your settings since I can't see EXIF data, but with the mites you can still freeze that action with a lower shutter like 1/200th or less - and keep that ISO at 1600 or higher. Your shots like this one: http://www.flickr.com …/22918854@N04/4303130392/ (external link) are great - would be better with the whole stick (AND puck) in the frame, but regardless shots like that sell sell sell to the parents because they can see their kid's face!

Don't be afraid to blow out the ice no matter what it takes! A little motion blur never hurts when that face is in focus!

Here's a gallery I recently uploaded from a few weeks ago: http://libanophotos.smugmug.com …472_cirXu#772495049_oNUJF (external link)

Thanks for the advice! I actually deleted a bunch because the ice was so blown out. I used spot metering and the exposure levels were all over the place. I think I need to think about exposure lock for the next game.
