I assume this is from the same people (Samyang, Bower, Rokinon....) making some decent lenses lately. Anyone here try one out yet?

I sent the seller a question as it looks like it is listed at 2 different prices. I assume one is a 1.4x TC.

The first thing I notice about it is that there no electical connections between the lens and the body, so it does nothing for AF or appeture control.

Pass...

But it says AF and I saw no pix of the bottom of it. How do you draw your conclusion?

It looks suspciously like a Kenko DG...on second thought it has some physical differences. 3 ridges on the barrel as opposed to 2.

I have no idea what those 2 "pins" are sticking out the top.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

If the $100 one turns out to be AF and 1.4x, I'll buy one and test it against my other TCs.

I guess you are right, the connection on the top are on the inside of the lip. They could be hidden in that one shot. Still, for $99 I'll pass. It just doesn't sit well with me for some reason.

If it really is its own unique design...I wonder if EF-S lenses will mount . . .

Don't hold your breath boys, this looks like the same design that Bower has been selling for years, I have one of those. There is no reporting of the lens being passed.

This one looks good tho, with the fancy Vivitar Series 1 Red Ring.

Seems really cheap. Will it perform as cheaply?

That picture looks like a Nikon auto-focus - it has a screwdriver-like piece to turn the focus in the lenses - at leas the older Nikon auto-focus lenses. I don't know if they still do that.

OK, maybe not so new. B&H sells them. I just ordered one. Will report on how it is after I get it. Like I needed another TC?
