We are on location now. Everyone has commented how cool the camera looks. The client said "this is like the future".

Have you used your rig outdoors? Planning on a new setup (not quite as nice as yours of course), but not sure about getting ND filters (as in, bother with anything less than 0.9?, go for the 3.0?). You have any on your system (/ planning to use a certain set)?

Video Camera?

Yeah I have some cheap Cokin ND filters. I used the .9 on a shoot last week along with a butterfly diffuser and reflector. The results looked great but you really have to be careful with reflections and flares from the ND filter. Several of my shots were ruined from a big reflection I couldn't see without a proper viewfinder.

Some higher quality ND filters may help and they are indeed on my short wish list. I have a Kodak Wratten 2.0 gel ND filter but it is really extremely difficult to work with since it is so fragile.

One thing, since we aren't syncing with strobes we can just increase the shutter angle/speed to get wider F stops. Of course this will result in the Saving Private Ryan effect, but it is one solution that works without ND.
