I wear glasses, i slide them down my nose and look through the viewfinder with a "naked" eye, I just adjust the diopter to compensate.

I don't have any trouble with the viewfinder on either camera and sometimes use the LCD on the 590. I have a pair of reading glasses for computer use and recommend that. It lets me see the entire monitor instead of raising and lowering my head. Canon SX50 / Canon A590 IS, Panasonic ZS6

Wilt Reader's Digest Condensed version of War and Peace [POTN Vol 1] More info | Feb 03, 2010 14:03 | #49 Eyeglasses at the strength best suited for viewing PC monitors should be pretty good for viewing and focusing in the viewfinder. The typical viewfinder screen's apparent viewing distance is 30-36" (depending upon which brand of camera), so focusing is best when eyes handle that distance. The problem for older wearers of glasses is that distant vision correction is often too far for that apparent distance, and reading distance bifocals are too close for that apparent distance...the solution is the diopter correction, and viewing thru the distant vision part of focals. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php

SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Feb 03, 2010 14:05 | #50 I have been wearing glasses for just a few years, but I need them all the time now. So, I wear progressive bi-focals that are transitions and coated for non-glare all the time. On the computer, though, I have computer glasses that make everything look great about 2-3 feet from my face, but everything else is completely blurry. If I forget to take those off, I can trip over just about everything. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!
