K,
Very nice - maintained great detail in the dark feathers, not easy to do!

Ken, I don't know if you got my pm or not, but I think an early morning visit to 13 would add to your experience. You will have the sun to your back and there are a lot of eagles flying overhead.

Thanks for PM Chris, Been so focused on the shooting and the experience of actually being here that attention to posting here has fallen off. We've discussed all the other spots every day here so my choice has been to just anchor here. I've not been disappointed one bit, in fact, I kinda wish shooting would drop off for a while anyway, so Frank, genius fountain of information can show me how to set up that nine point cluster AF that works so well for him. He also began to give me instruction on reading the histogram that I want to learn also.

Well, it's morning and I need to get moving or I'll get accused of sleeping in again.

Days of fun for sure,

Ken

Hoping to make it out there to meet you before you go. I'm glad you found a mentor to help you with that fabulous set up you lugged all the way from the Pacific NW.

You know, one thing in particular makes this whole season even more pathetic: The fact that between the past few years and now, I've always told everyone how awesome it is out there, and I've had pictures to prove it.

The way this year has gone....makes me feel like a big fat liar.

Forecast for Saturday is looking worse and worse. Unfortunately, it's too late to cancel my Calumet rental of a 2x converter. So should I make the trip (my first), if for no other reason than to at least see the eagles, and maybe get some shots of eagles in the rain? Or do I find something else (closer to home) to take advantage of the 2x on a rainy day? The current plan is to visit L&D 13 in the morning, and then head down to 14 for the afternoon.

I would head for L&D as each day has its own way of making it worthwhile. IMHO

I like your plan. Just make sure you get to 13 early (maybe spend an hour there) so you have plenty of time left to spend at 14

Another Unbelievable Outrageous day on the L&D.

One of over 740 shots today. The entire front was lined up with the best people, the best equipment, the best of the best help for those in need... Thanks to frank for your deep deep understanding of the technology available in Canon cameras and also knowing how to draw it out so that it brings photography to life. I am deeply indebted for your help today.
