This is the Pine Mountain ski jump in Iron Mountain, Michigan where this past Saturday they hosted a FIS Continental Cup Ski Jumping Tournament featuring over 40 skiers from across Europe and North America. It was my first time at this meet but it won't be my last! No more words, I'll try to let the photos (ten total) tell the story.

Nice shots! We've got tickets to the Men's SkiJump for the Olympics.

In Shot #7, there is a radio in the background (wifi radio) I used to work for the company that manufacturers those! lol

Thank you very much. There is very little interest in this sport in the grand scheme here in the States, but there are many who really get into it. The folks I was standing near at the jump were all talking about the nuances of the wind blowing and calling out the distances before announced. Giving me tips on where I should be shooting and how I could get away with standing where I really shouldn't be! It was pretty cool. Photography wise, this sport has so much potential, it's just so hard to shoot what with the cold, the speed, the big stupid hill you've got to climb and stand on at an angle. Argh! LOL A gentleman at the event said: "Oh, I bet that's cold coming down that hill at 55mph." His friend replied: "Oh, I don't know about that, I'd be sweating bullets just standing at the top!". ;)
