I currently have a powershot A640 with canon underwater housing that I use for snorkelling but I started thinking about using the 30D until I saw the price of Ikelite housings!

Anyway has anyone used one of these before...

Are they as dodgy as they look or do they work? I want them to work but I feel a bit nervous just looking at them, I'm not sure I could physically bring myself to take the 30D in the sea in one.

They do work but not that well, & I wouldn't risk my camera & lens to one of them unless they had no value. Think how hard it will be operating controls and holding onto it while inside that bag.

I'd use something like that for splash protection, but I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable submersing my camera in one.

Reports I've seen on those soft housings show them as tough to use at any depth, and too prone to leak for my taste. I'll stick with the Canon housing for my A630, thanks.
