I read sometimes here a write-up on how to tightened or adjust the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 when the part that hold the hood is loose.
Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

It looks kind of rough but once covered with a UV filter all is sweet.. Jurgen

I bought my lens with this issue and I got it for significantly cheaper because of it. That makes me happy. Fixing it tonight! Thanks for this thread! People helping people. It seems to be a problem on 17-50mm only.. My four year old Tamron 28-75mm has never come lose.. I find this strange as the arrangement and hood are identical.. Maybe I'm just lucky.. Jurgen

I think it's caused by the torque applied when installing and removing the hood. Canon 7D, 430EXII, Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD
