Shot this on a recent great day of ice climbing. It's of one of my climbing partners going for a quick trip up the steepest, longest line at the crag.

Or ice axes.

Pretty impressive.

Yeah, "quick trip", the line wasn't particularly hard by ice climbing standards and we'd already led the route so we/he could climb much faster with the top rope in place (much less risk).

Some don't have enough stress in their lives.

I'll stick with shift work in a refinery, thank you.

Props to those who do that.

That's a beautiful shot!

Just nitpicking, but anyone else think it would be better without the rope across the middle?

It absolutely would be. That's the hard part with climbing photos... they present pretty serious challenges in getting them set up correctly.

I wanted to shoot this on lead (I led it first, then we pulled the rope for him to give it a go) but it was sleeting while he was leading so visibility was too poor. Thus, I had to settle for this view.

If you like, and switch on "IMAGE EDITING OK", I'd love to clone out the rope for you! I used to rock-climb (bad wrists now :() so it's kind of a "Oh...the good ol' days" feeling!

Again, as is: great picture!

Regards,
Simon
