I would like to come if my schedule allows (which I won't know until then).

All forum folks are welcome to play....keep an eye here for updates on the schedule and the locations.

I may try to come in for this. May be a good weekend to schedule a trip back home to the Asheville area.

OK, I'll bite. Already live in WNC/Madison county and would be interested in meeting other photographers. I was surfing POTN and wondered "what's on this forum?". Glad I did. Anytime in July's good by me.

DuPont State Forest? The waterfalls there are to die for.

Welcome! We're neighbors... sorta! ;) I'm in Buncombe County (so is Woolburr... barely! :p )

From this area or just moved to this area?

Hey....Madison County is a couple miles away. Probably closest up Bear Creek.

Dupont is an option....It would be a better option if they ever stopped being stupid and let people drive in and park so they could get to Bridal Veil.....and ban the horses that are destroying what few crappy trails do exist.

They really need to send someone to NY to take a look at the trail system at Watkins Glen State Park....so they can see how to make waterfalls accessible yet still beautiful.

Thanks for the welcome. We've lived in the Asheville area for 20 years now, but I've been working here, on and off, since the '70's. We used to live in Haw Creek (saw the Fire Dept photos) but moved to Madison county 11+ years ago to get away from the big city...

What a small world! I have spent the vast majority of my life in Haw Creek (well over 30 years! :p)

That's why we moved to Leicester....get away from the city. Still close enough when I want something....but far enough away that I can get a shot like this from my own yard.

We looked and looked in Leicester. Several times we found the land, but couldn't get the house we wanted. We're exactly 20 miles from the center of downtown, so it's not too bad a drive. While we ended up with 3 acres, there's over a 100 acres behind us that we're free to use anytime we want. While we sometimes miss the conveniences of downtown, we love Madison county.
