I like dizzying shots like this. Good DOF and detail in the bark of these mighty trees. This would be a good scene for a subtle HDR process where the sky wouldn't be blown out.


The ice age 10,000 years ago proves that "Climate Change" is so easy even a caveman can do it.

Yeah as soon as i took it i knew the sky was blow out...

it was just cloudy in Santa Cruz today-ISO 800 caught me the color under the trees...but blew out the sky.

vital stats of the raw= F16(ha just realized f16), 1/60th of a second, ISO 800, at 30mm on the 28-135 kit lens.

Awesome shot! I actually like the blown out sky, gives an eerie feel to the upper branches.
