Which lens and body did you use to shoot these? I'm assuming the 7D and the 70-200. What settings did you use as well? They seem soft. The light looks good, just not in sharp focus.

Gottcha18:

Lighting looks great, but the focus is a bit off. After crying to the forum, singing the blues over the crap focus with my 7D, someone mentioned switching to center-point EXPANDED focus in AI Servo.

This is the focus screen that shows the empty centerpoint [] with the 4 points surrounding it in red. Give it a shot. I got the first really in-focus shots with the 7D last night using this focus setting.

I have absolutely NO IDEA why the camera doesn't lock on with good focus using only the empty centerpoint ... it just DOESN'T and it's been frustrating as you know what!

I'll post some ambient light from a gym with fantastic lighting later on today to show the tack sharp focus results using the centerpoint expanded mode.

Looks like they need a bit of processing to get the colors to pop and lastly USM on the small web sized jpgs. Otherwise not bad.
Do the cheerleaders always stand by the doors?
