A post on the "Talk About Photography" section detailed the experiences of a photographer being detained and forced to produce ID because he was taking pictures of a private office building. I found a web site which has a PDF document by an attorney which spells out a photographer's rights so that you will know and can produce a written explanation should you be stopped.
