Feb 04, 2010 06:30 | #2 I like this shot. The last two at the beach. But as I look at it, there are times that the bird in the forground distracts me - maybe because he looks a little soft. Other times I see it as the focal point. Interesting. Cropping the bottom to just below the "trash line" immediately draws your attention to the person. Great composition either way. All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and complimentary comments, Phil .. I thought about cropping out the bird, but decided to leave it in even tho it was OOF. The funny thing is when I took the shot, I wasn't even aware that a surfer was sitting there on the beach - I only noticed him in PP. Kind of like finding the prize in the Cracker Jack box, ha.
