PhotoMatix pro. you can get some realistic images , its all in your settings


Canon 40D,24-70 2.8L,Tamron 10-24, 430ex 2,580 ex 2, Photomatix 3, Photoshop Elements 7, and Now Photoshop CS4:lol:

I agree. There are many examples here of shots done in photomatix with no halo. It's all in the settings.

I shot this field this morning for example.

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

nice shot navydoc...

i have ps cs4 and photomatix.. but i still havent figured out how to get an hdr shot. Ive bracketed and tone mapped... watched ou tube videos... shot in raw.. anyway.. ill figure it out eventually.

BTW.. i myself am a former fmf corpsman... i was in the first class in corp school when the dt and hm rates merged... still got the sweater lol

anyway.. really cool shot!

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

I received a communication about the above problem (photoshop being hosed) being quoted in an evaluation of the HDR PhotoStudio product, so I fee obligated to post this update.

As to the photoshop problem:
- the company (support) did reply. I had already spent about 3 1/2 hours working on it and had resolved the problem myself before receiving their reply, but they did reply, and with the correct answer (which I had already discovered.)

However,

In the process of communicating with them, I forwarded info to them about another (unrelated) bug in the program which, to me, reduced the usability of the program.

That was about a week ago. I have received no communication from them (UnifiedColor) asking about the problem or offering a resolution.

Honestly, I'm having the same debate myself. I'm trying out HDR Photostudio first and am then going to try Photomatrix.
