A female hummingbird built a nest on our patio a couple of months ago and recently I noticed there were eggs in the nest...

Today I took another look and discovered the eggs have hatched...

Not the greatest pictures, but I'm trying not to disturb the mother too much. I have to climb up on a stool and hold the mirror and then shoot with the camera in my other hand. I'm using my G5 for these...

The first one (of the mother on the nest) I shot from my back door with my 40D and 70-200...

This may be a recurring thing, because hummingbirds will return to the same nest year after year. Or so I've been told...

Great shots. She sure picked a safe place. She isn't likely to be bothered by other birds on the porch. :)

We had some pretty foul weather a couple of weeks ago and she wasn't fazed by any of it. The nest is out of the rain and because we have another building right behind us, she was protected from the wind.

It took me awhile to figure out what I was looking at. Didn't realize you were holding a mirror.
