*************** EDIT PROBLEM SOLVED***************

So I have the weirdest thing going on. I have used my 1DIII with my Tokina 10-17mm fisheye for maybe 16-17 months without any problems. It is a superb lens for what I need it for. I can shoot at around 12mm and get a "Full frame" fisheye.

As of a few days ago the lens and Camera decided to not work with each-other.

I gave a large gulp and thought, damn 1DIII!!!!

But then I mounted every lens in sight to the 1D and they worked flawlessly.

First frame with the toki back on the 1D and.... err 99.... then err 30???

WTF!!!!

So I put the toki on the 5D worked fine, the 20D.... no problem. Clean all conacts....

Back on the 1D.... err99!!!!!!!!!!!!

So pissed off. Got some shooting to do this next week with the 1D and I don't mind using the 15mm fish but this is kinda freakin me out. I am thinking maybe I will have to send the lens to Tokina? But it works fine on any other Canon... So weird???

No clue man.

I wrote "Contacts" and then re-read your message. Does the lens show up in the 1D3's micro adjust menu? That would indicate that they're at least talking

Yes, and it auto focuses. I just finished charging the battery and busted the toki back on to check what you suggested and it is working fine. So weird.

Thanks anyways...

To be honest with you I don't know why it works now. I was 100% certain that it was the lens/body combo tho... I made sure of that before i freaked out.

It always auto focus- and recognized the lens. Just when I actuated did the problem start. It seems fine now. It is possible that it was a contact issue, but I don't know why all other lenses and bodies would work.
