The experiment worked... you got presentable images. It is not something I like but interesting enough. I thing the first one is best. The other ones are lacking something - don't know what. And #3 is clearly over exposed.

Sorry just noticed that the two top ones (eye and chin) are seperate ones - thought they were one... But now only the "eye" appeals to me - the rest not.

Instant impression is that #1 and #2 are a league above #3 and #4. There's something strange about the way the curvature in the forehead presents in #1... can't avoid feeling like it's an eye superimposed on an ear :-). Yes, I've been drinking, but I swear that's all, and not that much. Ultimately - after the compositional novelty - #1 needs a better look eye to look into to give it sustained punch. Just a tight gentle beam of narrow frontal lighting. #2 has less technical issues - very nicely realised - but it has less potential than #1 too. #3 - #4 to a lesser extent - are slowly growing on me... hmmm. #3 doesn't have much interest visually, but the contemplation of someone standing waiting in such shadow does get you trying to read the expression for clues to intent. #4's butterfly like, no? Eyes shut against the affronting light. Great subject positioning throughout - the tilt, framing, space.

Cheers,
Tony

vk2gwk,

Thank you for your honesty. Those images were very hard to get.

tonydee,
Thank you for the details. Are you drinking for breakfast? :)

#1 reminds me of the kind of image you would see on a movie poster about some stalker or some kind of horror element. I like it.

#2 just doesn't hold my interest.

#3 and 4 suffer from overexposure to the degree that it's distracting. You can achieve the same kind of feeling and keep the exposure within range, just requires some better lighting ratios. Digital cameras don't overexpose gracefully so, while it might have been successful had you used film, the limitations of digital's latitude are too obvious here.

Failure is always an option.

Disjecta,
Hi. The last two were very badly exposed. I wanted to work with them anyway due to the nature of the series.
I compensated with some Photoshop but I personally like the first two the best. These were done in the closet with a basic flashlight and low iso, low aperture, and about a 1/80 shutter speed.
The creepiness I can also see; I like it myself.
I'm a novice so I'm new to all the terms :).
Thank you.

I like the first one best on both sets. #2 in each kind of scare me a bit. But if that is the intent then you nailed it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you.
I actually wasn't going for the scary/creepy feel but once I started to work with this model and started scanning thru my images on my cam, I saw that creepy look; so I just went with it.
Thanks for looking and commenting.
