The last photo is supposed to look like that. It was indoors. It was kinda dark because the light was off. The bride and bridesmaids were waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Thanks! :)

Absolutely. It was in the woods in PA by the Delaware river. The ceremony was at the parent's house.

Oh ok..... yeah I like that blue tarp :D

Tim.. What Body did you pair your Tamron 28-75mm before? does it hunt in relatively low light?

I had it with a 300D and 10D, so years ago. I don't remember much about it.

hahaha...I just noticed most users complaints is AF... I am afraid that it would focus the same way as my 18-270mm... in that with 1 fluorescent tube in a room..it can't focus on areas with shadows. it just hunts and hunts.. although 18mm is at f/3.5

I am hesitant to fork out $800 for the Sigma 24-70mm... I might regret it.

yeah:lol:... but I was also reading here
http://www.slrgear.com …uct.php/product/49/cat/23 (external link)

and some with D700 have conflicting experiences... but I just checked the price and its currently at P18,000 or around $375 new <-- too good to resist. If I do decide, I might grab one before the end of the month. I think I could sell it used if I decide to ditch it after a couple of months for $320-350.

I used the tamron 28-75mm f2.8 on a XSI (450D) AF wasn't slow nor fast just average I guess in low light it did hunt a bit but, I always got great results with that lens.... I traded that lens for a Tamron 17-50 2.8 which was better fit for a crop body and used it on both 40D and XSI cant say anything bad about it except for the AF sound real loud and annoying

Thank you SUB1IM388, AF sound doesn't really matter to me... I just want it to be able to focus in lowlight. I guess with the superior AF system of the D700 compared to my 500D it will not be a major issue. :D

hmmmm... I do like the photos that I see taken with this lens

The tamron 28-75 was the first lens i bought and like yourself i was on the XSI. AF was average and it hunted a bit. However, the results were great for the price point! Its the first lens i advise anyone who doesnt want to invest 1000+ to purchase. Its worth every penny of the 325 you can get it used for.

Great shots Nick. I too appreciate the juxtaposition of the bride vs. the surroundings. What did you use mostly in those shots? I'm a bit lazy to DL them and check exif

Primes are cool but I find myself missing the quick AF speed and accuracy of my ex 24-70 and 70-200...

I use Zen too. Occasionally the gallery creation piece (just the "create new gallery" part) slows down but uploading is quite fast. My ISP rules

Thanks!

Mostly the combo of the 24-70, 70-200VRII and Sigma 50.
I did use the 85 1.8 on some shots I haven't yes processed, but I wasn't too thrilled with the IQ. Don't get me wrong. It's sharp, but otherwise it's not doing anything for me. It ain't no 85L...not by a long shot.

Looks like 85mm will be a source of frustration for me with Nikon, just like how 50mm was with Canon. Sigh...

QUOTED IMAGE

I have no doubt this lens produces very good photos... I am just unsure about its focusing speed and lowlight ability :D

nice shot Omar :D

Yeah I figured as much. Damn. Man I was fighting the 24 last night. The girl moves just quick enough, the DOF is thin enough and the lens focuses slow enough that it appeared to be back focusing.

Dare I say, I think I miss the APS-H sensor size. Not crop, not full frame, just right. The 16-35/50/70-200 combo was perfect too.
