Tim I think the 20-35 will be too good :lol: Maybe the Tamron 17-35 too? Either one of those or the 28-105 are probably your best bet.

The 20-35 lens goes for about US$800 on ebay!

Been awhile since I posted but finally sold all my Canon Stuff, 'cept for 430exII flash. still useful for OCF.
Just had enough money for 70-200 VRII and boy. this is a truly great lens. In a way, it's same sharpness when it comes to 6.3+ with 70-300 VRII but I've only been using this at 2.8-4 and so like it so far. About the same weight and size (with hood) as my Sigma 180 Macro.
First day yesterday to test it.
