That was brave, I didn't think the 28-75 was weatherproof, and didn't seal the body properly! Nice that it worked

That got me the first time I used a Nikon too. It's apparently a physics thing, something to do with the optical properties of all lenses. Apparently the Nikon is accurately reporting things, whereas Canon does it correctly and just doesn't tell the user about it.
I did make sure that the lens is covered, I have a towel inside that too... the camera was exposed though... looking at the shots, I would say the risk was worth it for me
