I am not sure this is true. I used to be a Nikon shooter. But when Nikon declared that they would never implement a FF sensor in any of the DSLRs I jumped ship the next day and bought a 5D...

That fact and the fact that Nikon now offers FF cameras should be a pretty good tip-off regarding the desire Nikon users had for FF options.

For what its worth, finally got a CR3 on the announcement of something full frame on or within a week of the 28th

As I stated before, I think the events in Thailand fubared both Canon and Nikon's plans...

There probably have been several dates floating about internally at Canon from time to time..Could be a case of not wanting to announce something a LONG time before delivering it, Or they want to focus on the 1DX and getting it out the door, or mostly out the door, before they announce another camera that could steal sales from it...

I also believe that there are a few prototypes floating around out there, Probubly one with the 19pt AF from the 7D, one with some new AF system, and one with the 61pt AF from the 1DX, Theres probubly also a few of those using the 5DII sensor, a few using a new 22mp sensor, and a few using a higher resolution sensor....

IE I remember about 6 months before the 7D was announced the CR guy got a really good rumor about the 60D being a 15mp camera that did 8fps and had a brand new advanced 19pt AF system... Now think about that a bit Probubly a prototype 7D wearing an xxD badge and using the 50D's sensor because that particular prototype was working on the AF system...

Canonrumors might have been wrong on many things in the past, but when a CR3-rumor is posted, you can be pretty sure that something is about to happen.

Let's hope that we really do see something soon...

Exactly. This is the first time ever a 5D3 rumor has a CR3-rating.

I heard that the next 5D it'll be 86 megapixels with 700 af points cross-type.

And an ISO of 600256 and a 12 inch LCD, all shot in 32 bit.

Yep...and it's quick enough that if it's great, people can cancel their d800 pre-orders
