Nikon body is just uglier so the buttons look prominent.

Says the guy who owns a D700!

In Australia the 5D2 was 4299 when released, so 4200 is actually $100 cheaper in Australian terms

Smart of him. Set your prices well above what the MSRP will be. Profit off of the hysteria/excitement.

Unfortunately this is not the case. The prices remain that high. Forever!

Hmmm, a curious feature. Not that I do a lot of HDR, and I enjoy subtle HDR more than the comicbook-like HDR.

How configurable is the HDR on your Sony? Do you have parameters you can dial in, or is it just sort of a green mode HDR?

On the iPhone, there are no options, but I will say it works well. It never gives the comic book look.

It's not something I really would use on my DSLR, however it's just software (and something they already wrote for there P&S cameras), so adding it doesn't hurt anything. Just taking up a menu item.

Dam it. It just changed. B&H had the 5D111 on the google search engine with no price. When i checked again it was Bye Bye. Type 5D111 into google and see if its off your server

heheheh, right on....but what, technically speaking, does the camera do while it's in "HDR mode"? Will it take multiple exposures and combine them automatically into one file?

I already answered this for you

mattmorgan44 wrote in post #13996470 (external link)
I believe while in HDR mode the camera will take a succession of images and create a HDR image in camera. Would be a great feature if this is true.

Edit: This thread is moving SO fast. I see it's since been answered again

$3500.. I see a lot of people selling their 5d2/7d combo to get this.

I won't be one of them.

I have no issue in what a camera looks like as long as the images come out. With the exception of those ugly Canon grips. :)

This type of feature has been available in other systems for a while now but only output in jpeg. :(

Oh really.. Hopefully this one does RAW. I don't think it could replace PP HDR anyway, but could be a fun feature none the less

I wonder if they upped the x-sync from 1/200 (some copies only synced at 1/160) to a true 1/250? Even the original 1Ds can sync at 1/250 so it should not be a big deal...
