.......1-month or so after Nikon. If there's no update to D700s/n soon, this means Canon will wait for as much as they want, till Nikon announcement. ....
A D700 replacement has to near though.

i hope they step up their game with the 5dm3... or else I might honestly think about getting the d800. nikon has been doing awesome the last few years, with their world class lenses (70-200, 24-70,14-24, 24, 35, 105) pretty much blowing canon's out of the water except maybe the new 70-200. Their bodies are also what I want, which is awesome AF, awesome high ISO, awesome speed... granted theres no movie, but they are great picture cams. makes me jealous sometimes when my colleagues are flaunting around their D700s with 14-24, or insanely sharp 24-70s. canon, step it Up!!! Body: Sony a7R IV

GMCPhotographics Goldmember More info | Jan 11, 2011 05:39 | #501 Nikon took three years to bring out a Canon 5D variant and by then we had a 5DII. I can't see a D800 offering anything more to tempt current 5DII owners away from the Canon camp. It's more likely to be marketed at current D700 upgraders. The D700 cut's it's spec list differently to the 5DII but it's pretty much a 5D with a faster frame rate and better AF system. The 5DII offers a serous increase in resolution and image quality over botht he D700 and original 5D. The 5DII used the same design brief that the 5D used. But it's likely that the 5DIII will be a stightly different beast due to the rumoured demise of the 1Ds4. The 5DIII is likely to incorporate some of the 7D's more sports orientated brief. I'd be surprised if the 5DII replacement retains the current 4fps. I think 5-6 are far more likely, with an AF system that is based on the 7D and a further weather sealing improvement. I think we'll see another resolution increase, but probably not the 1.7x increase that we saw between the 5D anf 5DII...which is a good thing. I think the UI and handling will be a big improvement over the current model too. Regards, Gareth Cooper GMCPhotographics

I think I can see a tint of blue in the reflection of the coffe pot... either way, it is a rectangular reflection...if its not a window, then its a softbox. also, the boy has three distinct catch lights in his eye. so, you had a window flooding the room with light as well as two lights in the room on (you can see the reflection in the coffe pot as well as the kids eyes). I was talking about actual low light photography... do me a favor, take the same shot at 9 pm with only 1 of the two lights in the house on. ilumo wrote in post #11614962 i hope they step up their game with the 5dm3... or else I might honestly think about getting the d800. nikon has been doing awesome the last few years, with their world class lenses (70-200, 24-70,14-24, 24, 35, 105) pretty much blowing canon's out of the water except maybe the new 70-200. I must admit... I was truely impressed with the D700! Angry Dad wrote in post #11615797 Im considering jumping as well. If the 5D3 doesnt have better autofocus, I will be buying the D700 or D800 when that comes out. all the rumors I have been reading say that the d800 will be released the first quarter of this year and the new 5d won't be out until the last of this year... bigcountry wrote in post #11616712 where do you get this from about the nikon lenses blowing canon's out of the water? the only ones nikon makes that canon has nothing to even come close is the 14-24mm and the 200-400 VR. I don't think they were talking about mere focal ranges... I think they were refering to image quality and sharpness. At least thats what struck me about spending a day shooting with nikon body and glass. Canon 7D, Canon 24-70 2.8L, Canon 70-200 F4L, and Speedlights 580 & 430 EX II

So switch to Nikon.

If the new 70-200 is a sign of things to come, I'll be patiently waiting. oh, another lens to add to the beatdown, nikons new 85 1.4 is probably sharper than our 1.2 version. hah. Idk. I don't care for which one brand is better. They both make great products.
