I started out with Canon, but right now, I wish I'd took the Nikon path. However if the roles switched around again like when Canon had good lead over Nikon, then of course I'd be tempted to switch back, so it's imposable to say if it's a 'one time change'.

So you're admitting you're going to live your photographic life switching back and forth between camera systems every few years? Because this kind of leapfrogging between Canon and Nikon has been going on for the last 38 years, ever since Canon got into the professional arena.

But you're not in the market for their top-line cameras, you're in the consumer market. In the consumer market Canon and Nikon have been leapfrogging each other for the last 70 years.

You might as well stop complaining and get used to switching, if you intention is to patronize the company that has the technological lead every year.

WTH is wrong with you people. This is a thread about 5D3 rumors not about complaining that Canon won't give you everything that you want, and how you are going to switch to NIkon because one particular model Canon won't give you a specific feature.

canon is going no place but on top of the leader board. 5D2 is a great camera. Canon is not going to put all/most of the 1d features the features in the 5d3 update. You guys that are threatening to leave canon if they dont,,haha,,too funny. Canon will give a rats arse.There is a reason canon stays where they are at.......glass baby,, glass. There is such a minimul difference b/t noise issues on the top of the line cameras its silly how everyone argues about this.

I worked for GM for 13 years, ford for the last 7 yrs in the automotive business. They traded spots for all 21 years. Canon and Nikon will do the same. When it gets right down to it, the products do the exact same thing. They take pictures. Chevy and Ford does the same thing. They get you from point A to Point B. As we so proudly say in the automotive business-- " theres an Arse for every seat ". Doesnt matter if it is the Lexus or a $300.00 beater. Someone will sit in the seat and make it work for their needs. Same for the cameras.

I don't get why people become so emotional about a camera. In this case the 5d2: nobody is forcing you to buy it (or why do you own one already?) If you think it's crap and doesn't have the killer AF and speed you need, then look for alternatives. I just find the 'threatening' to switch laughable. Nobody forced you to buy Canon to start with, it's a choice you have made yourself. If it ends up being the wrong choice, deal with it, but don't be a whiner.

Nobody forced you into this thread to start with, it's your choice you made yourself. If it ends up being the wrong choice, deal with it, stop whining about people whining.

Yes well done, that's how the free market works, if another company can offer you more, you weigh up the pro's & con's and if you have plenty more 'pro's, you switch.
You seemed to have missed, that this all started when people were disappointed with the rumoured spec's which sound credible considering what happened with the 60D.

Being disappointed in a rumor is a silly waste of good emotion. There are more than enough real issues in most people's lives to be disappointed about.

It should be a Funny/humor section for this thread.
