I could care less about a 5D 3. Most won't even buy it if street price is over 3k. :)

True but, the AF has to be comparable to 1D AF. :);)

Whoever posted the "550 is better than the 7D" comparison is making a specious argument if you follow through and make properly finished images.

Certainly no expert here but if I were designing cameras, I'd feel reasonably confident that people buying higher end cameras would be processing at a higher level as well. Maybe that's where the breakdown is occurring. Maybe there are more people buying "more camera" with less skill at crafting quality images.

The file (raw or jpeg) is only the beginning...

I'm speechless, your basically saying Canon fudged the 7D in certain areas because people who spend more on a camera are better and more willing to spend more of their time post processing flaws that didn't have to be their in the first place!
Do you not see flaw in your logic there Diago?

Yeah, pretty much except you have it bassackwards...

I'm saying the 550 is fudged so new camera users get a higher initial level of satisfaction.

Eventually, as you improve your photography, develop a personal style and learn to become a photographer, you (probably) need less of an image crutch and can work more from scratch.

Different cameras do have different AA Filter strengths (Bayer Filter?) so there can be differences in sooc sharpness and definition.

"the 550 is fudged"? It stands to reason that someone who buys an entry level camera may as they progress in skill find they'd like the extra frills that a higher model can offer, but that doesn't mean the 550 was in any way fudged. It's a superb camera for the money, and many people don't regard it as a stepping stone but just use it as their main camera. And get superb images out of it.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

Oh, and it's Diego, not Diago...

Lol, I honestly can't believe you didn't back down here, are you seriously going to argue that it's somehow good that Canon give you less even though you pay more!?
I guess this is why we see only newbs buy L glass huh?

It couldn't be that the 550D sensor is slightly newer than that of the 7D, so as such, Canon included some minor technological improvements, it had made since the 7D?

Thanks for the spell check by the way, but that's the only thing you got right unfortunatley.
