The first one is transparent, it does not have a black background.
It just showed up, when I uploaded it here.
Thanks

JPEG doesn't support transparency, you need to save as PNG for that (GIF too but that limits you to indexed colour which is ugly)

As for the logo, it's funky and bright. I like it if funky was your intention.

For the service you're offering (http://xtremedigitals.com/ (external link) is the same Shawn I presume ;)) I think I'd want something a bit more "stylish".

It must be because it's an attachment instead of a link. The forum software must auto convert to jpeg.

If you want the truth, really, this is really, really gaudy to me, it is also very distracting.
I mean this is the most positive way too, :) I'm not being a jerk about it.
I make logos in my business quite a bit, and I'm not saying I'm an expert, but I'd give it a 2 out of a 10...
If you do kids portraits maybe, that 'might' be O.K., but still, there's a million other ways to go about this, I would think.
It's too busy, which makes it hard to read, too loud, and really, I can't think of anything at all positive to say about it.
With your logo's name, maybe go with a more futuristic approach, something more sleek maybe...
If you feel that you have to have this kind'a this way, maybe do away with either the black outline type, or the color portion, with both it just kills it.

I hope that you take this in the manner I meant it, which was constructive criticism.

Randy

I was thinking this would be a good logo for those specializing in skateboard photography. Checked out your site and think it will work up to Weddings. Doesn't connote the wedding photog feel to me. (First impression judgement)

Hey Randy, maybe you can give me a sample of what you would do?
Thanks
