Smthrz - Please post something after you get your copy on how it works with all of your lenses. I can see already it is going to come down to a lens by lens thing. More of this 3rd party reverse design. I put it on my Sigmonster (Sigma 300-800/5.6) and it reports f/5.6 and tires to AF but with little success. I'll have to start testing using tape on 3 pins.

I'll be testing it to see how it works with my collection. I'm assuming only the two non ef-s lenses I own will work at all. Interested to try it on the 400mm 5.6, but not getting my hopes up for it being useful in real-world applications.

Gasrocks, when you do your tests and report a test at f4, this is effectively f/8, right? f5.6=511, etc. The camera reports f4, because the TC is non-reporting, but the lens actually receives light equivalent to f8.

Yes, I am listing what aperture the lens is at not what the camera saw (what exposure.) You heard what I said about how it works on my copy of your 70-200/4 L IS, now I'll be interested in the 60 macro and 400/5.6. I'll bet you will be suprized at the results wih the 400/5.6. Just for jollies, try it on your Sigma 30 to check for compatability with other brands.

I was under the assumption that there were no teleconverters that worked on EF-S/crop sensor lenses. This would mean that the Canon EF-S 60mm macro and Sigma 30mm should not work, correct? If the TC's worked with EF-S lenses then I would think everyone would have one on their Canon 55-250mm. I'll see what it can do when I get it.

OOps...my misteak, I forgot the 60 is an ef-s. Yes, no TCs made for ef-s lenses. Sorry. Unless you are doing macro and throw on a short ext. tube between the TC and the lens, of course.

OK, tested 2x TCs with my SIgmonster and (this should make some here feel better) the Canon 2x II TC won by a slight bit at every aperture over the new Viviatr 2x TC.

OK, this has all been most interesting but no one needs 6 TCs - so I just put 2 up on eBay. See the Sell section here if you'd like a link.
