bit of a strange one which i cant put my finger on.

basically the 580 works fine for abot 10-15mins of shooting. Then it just suddenly stops, it wont send out the IR beam for focussing, or when you press the test fire button even allow it to flash.

Remove the 580 and then the test works.

OK so then I fit the 580 onto my back up 30D and i can shoot all nightlong without any issues what so ever.

However this makes me think ok body issue, except that ive borrowed two 580s over the last two weeks and both have worked on the 1D perfectly non stop all night....

Has anyone come across this before, any ideas? Im thinking its going to be a body/flash off to someone like fixation this week, although im worried anyone testing might just say it works fine and no faults as it only does it after a period of time of shooting
