That was the Avedon approach and I think the reason he did it. Nothing but a simple, honest interpretation. You are forced to deal with the subject, nothing else, in a very real way.

Exactly. It's his ability to capture the subject's beauty with unflinching honesty that make these such compelling images, IMO. Schoeller is another that comes to mind. Thanks for the post, airfrogusmc - I love stuff like this.

I'd love to see a 20x24 inch print of those..

Or like Avedon did Life Size.
