We have the school carnival coming up next week and my son decided he wanted to be a pop star rather than a clown or an indian..

Studio shot's are not my thing so this was kind of a fun shoot just for him :D

I picked up a Canon EF 85mm 1.8 USM yesterday so this is the first shot using it - very very sharp I must say!

Side note * There is no post sharpening on this shot!

Strobist:

Canon 430 EX II - Shoot Through - 1/8 Power @ 50mm - Camera Right
Gold Reflector - Camera Left - Hand held by my wife

hehe - My wife wont stop laughing at it :D he's crazy really!

In Euros I paid 310 - converts to 422 dollars wich is no dout expensive but for the EU this is normal price for a used one - not even a year old and mint condition! but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it - we shall see... bad weather out side kinda put's a downer on photography...

Thx Helen - Yes it seems so!

Given the character "pop star" could anyone suggest a different approach to the processing?

I think it kind of looks a little flat..

Looks good!! My only suggestion would be to clone out the umbrella reflection in his glasses.

Thank you ^^ I thought that would add to the shot being in the spot light as a super star - is it normal to clone such reflections out in the portrait world?

it's an easy fix - suggestions?
