Im in no hurry to upgrade camera right now. But i am wanting to get another lens.. right now i have the kit:rolleyes:, 50 1.8, 28-105, and the 75-300 I was thinking of another prime maybe the 85 but im just not sure. I have problems adjusting to primes. but im clueless as to what kind of lens to buy next for my camera i dont have the money for an L lens so those are out of the question lol.
Anyone have suggestions?

Which kit lens? 18-55 IS, if not trade up. 2nd lens you should own is the 55-250 IS lens. Sell the 28-105 and 75-300.

Id like to spend no more then 400 on one bc im upgrading my flash too. I can't sell my 28-105 that is my favorite everyday lens. I have the plain jane kit lens.

This would have be my advice also.
One question does arise though: why do you want a new lens?

Also: "plain jane" doesn't help us much. Is the 18-55 lens you have the Image Stabilizer model?

Without knowing much about what you like to shoot, I'd recommend upgrading your lenses to a fixed f-ratio over the entire focal length of the zoom lens. Why? Because when you start shooting in M mode (you want to improve your shooting skills right?), once you set the metering, you can alter the focal length without having to re-adjust the metering due to the changing aperture. With this in view, I'd look at Canon's marvelous 24-105mm f/4L IS. That's my bread-and-butter lens. You can also consider Sigma's excellent 24-70/2.8 as well. Your 50/1.8 is a great low-light and portrait lens.

+1 providing as suggested your 18-55mm kit lens has IS.

Also upgrade to the Speedlite 430 EX II [$250]

Outdoors shoot in AV mode.
Indoors shoot in Manual with the external flash + ETTL bounced vertically.

Regards whatever your decision ! :D

or you could save up another 100 for a 70-200 after you sell off your 75-300 you could also do another prime like the sigma 30 or canon 85 1.8

So I'm guessing this is a want not a need.

Need to know what you shoot, and whether you should get rid of some of your other lenses (28-105, and the 75-300) and 'trade up' to something better there as well.
