Hi Everyone! I have had basic SmugMug for a few months but have recently upgraded to Power User because I wanted to implement some of the custom code from the dgrin forums. I am very happy with that decision!

It is a work in progress, but here is what I have done so far: http://benandwindy.smugmug.com (external link)

The site is mainly for sharing photos with family and friends. Whatever I do, I am trying to keep it clean and simple. :) I had a Flickr account and it was awful in terms of presentation and functionality for my non-computer savvy visitors.

Any critique for improvements would be much appreciated!

I have been working on my smug mug site off and on since April. I think I finally have it where I want it. What do you think?

Luke, I like the beginning layout (it's alot like my opening...so I hope I like it). I like the humor you added in your logo.

Your stock stuff...are you shooting for someone, or are you independently shooting those shots? Is the food coming from your kitchen? Makes me hungry! Very nice photos as well.

Thanks for the kind words. The stock stuff is done independently and sold on Alamy (for the most part). I decided to add it to my site as a portfolio for product photography (something I am trying to get into).

All the food is from my kitchen. My wife loves to cook and expirement with different recipes. I will pass along the kind words. She has a blog where she posts her recipes so she needs quality pictures of the food. This has given me the perfect opportunity to practice lighting, backgrounds, food setup, plating, and everything else associated with food photography. Our hobbies have complimented each other nicely :)

There is a thread dedicated to food photography over in the expiremental forum, just don't go into that thread hungry!

Yes, you are both doing very fine work in your hobbies. I'd be 500 pounds if I was in your shoes:)

Here is mine..

It is just a starting point because we are not sure about the complete layout yet. Also, we have friend that does web design who is going to do our menus and some other extras. I do love all the freedom to customize the site.
