Hi all,

Been away from this forum forever... Just bought a new 7D and a used 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, and they are bringing my excitement of photography back. :) Look forward to posting some pix on the forum again. The 7D will be here Wednesday, hopefully. :)

BTW, I'm upgrading from a 20D. Was waiting to upgrade my body for a long time. I think I'll really enjoy the 7D.

I sold my 17-40mm f/4L and 70-200mm f/4L, and used the money to get a used 24-70mm f/2.8L. I hope I made the right decision. I find that with the stuff that I shoot, I don't need the extended zoom range. And since I don't plan to get a full frame for at least another 4 years, I think the lenses I have would suffice. I have now..

1. Canon EF-S 10-22mm /f3.5-5.6
2. Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8
3. Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6
4. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8

The 24-70mm is really heavy though. I was quite surprised when I first held it in my hands. I think when I'm on trip, I will only bring lens 1 and 3. Otherwise, lens 1 and 2 should be a pretty good combo for day-to-day.

The menus of your 20D are going to look pre-historic compared to the 7D but the 20D is still s great camera. ISO will be night and day except at the lower levels.
