My wife's friend has been living in England for the last few years and has only been back for a little while, so they were having a good old catch up.

I can't wait to get a flash, at the moment I'm using a bit of card to bounce the light to the ceiling. It was just good luck that my wife's friend was sitting under the light.

Let me know what you guys think.

#1 Yes It's out of focus and No, it's not what you think they are looking at

#1 seems a bit out of focus for my taste. For all pictures, turning down the white balance a little could get rid of that orangey hue and make the subjects look sharper. #2 and #3 should look a lot better with some PP. Overall good work, ladies look happy! :)

Cheers for looking.
I decided to leave the colour balance warm as it gave a nice glow and cooling it down made the shots look sterile to me.
Just to get it clear in my head, would you generalise the white balance to the overall picture or is to the skin tone? Because the white singlet of my wife looks about right.
Also I think the Halogen downlight could be throwing it off.

I appreciate all the C&C I get as it helps me.
