I was at a wedding yesterday where I setup a photobooth where film strips were printed for the guests. It was the first time I did the onsite printing and for the most part, everything went great, but there were two things I need to work out:
First the issue! I was printing using lightroom's print module with a custom template (4 x 4 pictures, with an identity plate placing the bride and groom's logo at the bottom of each strip; after printing, I cut the 8.5 x 11 into 4 strips). The problem was, after many sheets of problem free printing, some sheets randomly began to print out WITHOUT the identity plate logo! I never touched that setting after the initial setup, so it was very random. I got around it by just doing a second print on the same sheet of photo paper with 0 pictures, but the identity plate showing, and it took care of it, but it wasted time and I couldn't figure out why! Has anyone else had any issues like this at all with the Lightoom print module and identity plate?
Second, the question! There were some requests for multiple copies of the same strip to be printed (ie. a set of 4 pictures) On the fly, the only solution I came up with was selecting the four pictures and "create virtual copies" multiple times (once for each extra "copy" requested). But if, say the 4 pictures were A1, A2, A3, A4 and the virtual copies are B1, B2, B3, B4, when I created the virtual copies, they were placed into the order of A1, B1, A2, B2, A3, B3, A4, B4. That of course would put the pictures out of order in the print module template, so I had to reorder them so the As were together and the Bs together. It worked out fine, but obviously, not a very elegant solution. So the question is, is there a better way to handle that?
And just to give you a frame of reference, this is a sample "sheet" in Lightroom (rotated)

I haven't been able to upgrade just yet...
