I have an Opteka grip on my XTi and a Zeikos grip on my 50D. Have not had a problem with either grip.

I've got the low cost Travor (eBay) grip on my T1i.

It works and looks just fine. Quality appears to be close to Canon. Not a lot of 'technology' in a grip.

I've got a 'genuine' Canon grip on my 50d that I bought 'LNIB' from a fellow POTN member. If it wasn't for the good price I would have gone w/ an aftermarket on that one as well.

Stick with canon. cant go wrong.

I agree. I had a not Canon grip on my 40d & did not like it. When I shot vertical with the flash the flash would only work when it wanted to. Went to a Canon grip & it just feels better! It's solid & dependable.

What does a flash have to do with the grip ?

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

I have a Zeikos Grip on my 40D and it works perfectly. I haven't looked back since mounting it on the body. It would have been nice to get an extra battery like the other brands.

I have the phottix one for my 50D and it has two phottix titan batteries as well and it is awome, i would never waste my money on a ganuine canon one, cause they are way over priced

Never seen one that did, at least that I can recall. The 1d series has it but of course the grip is integrated into the camera. So perhaps I should say that vertical shooting config has the iso dial as well.

Perfectly satisfied with the Phottix grip. Could not see any reason to dish out three and a half times the price to get a Canon logo on a grip when I purchased it. Five months (and 5000 shots later) I still hold the same view.

The only thing I see reading this thread is that in some places the price difference is not so horrendous, which puts a Canon purchase into a different perspective there.

Jenis LCD grip is a great one and it comes with a wireless remote that workes very well and has a longer reach then ahte canon remote. Not really cheaper though. Check out post #6 for a picture.
