Did you really need to post to your own topic three seperate times (versus editing original?) :D

Very interesting... Looks like a great upgrade in the rebel line.

The 50D is looking rather sad right now. This T2i packs some amazing features into the Rebel lineup. The HD video shooting isn't crippled in any way! Full manual control, high FPS and even a mic jack. I'm hoping the 3:2 LCD makes it to Canon's other models soon.

Yep.. same Video as 7d and 1d Mark IV.. plus 'movie crop' mode.

Other than the fps and AF points.. It's a 7d

Not only AF points, but types of AF as well (spot, zone, point expansion), buffer size (6 RAW vs 15-17 RAW on 7D) and of course not a full 100% viewfinder. But really, you can't expect a rebel to match a camera double its price.

Still looks pretty loaded for a Rebel. It should sell very well and be a worth-while upgrade from the T1i/Xsi etc...

wrong, it's not the same sensor. While it may not matter, it's still a valid point. and as stated, build and ergonomics goes a long way as well.

Personally, I was hoping a 60D would be announced.

"Continuing Canon’s tradition of filtering new technology and features down from its advanced and professional DSLR ranges"

If anything Canon are known for doing just the opposite. Testing out things on other bodies before offering them on the top of the range bodies.

Im sure the sensor would be close enough though, much like the 50D vs T1i. 50D may be "gapless" but you could not really tell a difference.

Of course it's not a 7d.. :D

It is impressive for a Rebel though. I never thought they would include all the frame rates, Full manual controls, and a mic hookup.
