Read Understanding Exposure, a book by Bryan Peterson. Learn how to use and understand your histogram.

It's hard to give tips without specific questions, there are hundreds of possibilities depending on what you want to do with it.

So, my tips would be:

1) read the manual, whilst handling the camera
2) read it again
3) go out and play with your new toy
4) examine results and try and work out what works / does not work as intended, and why.
5) come back on here and ask more specific questions about things you still don't understand, or why the results you are getting aren't what you expected.

This is a very friendly forum, and there are always people happy to help you, but you do need to narrow down your questions and be more specific.
