50mm 1.8 is a must for you guys. If you are indeed loving photography. It's $90 you will not regret spending.

+1

Day by day, my 50mm f/1.8 is the lens I tend to use the most. It's great for indoors, outdoors, portraits, daylight, low-light, and excellent DOF. Bokeh may be mediocre and action shots can be more difficult, but for under $100 shipped, it's a steal and a great knock-around/practice lens. It's very light and offers a lot to a practicing beginner as well as seasoned photographers. Highly recommended!

Good head shot. I took the kit lens off the T2i & put it on the XT for my wife to use without me using it for one shot. Maybe I'll put it back on and give it a try. You might try having your model look slightly to one side toward the main off center light source and then have him turn his eyes back to the camera. I hope you know I'm just kidding. I have 2 of them and they refuse to do anything I ask of them much less holding a pose.

Again: Good shot

I use the free version of VideoPad Video Editor. It allows me to make short clips with music or whatever just fine. But it depends on how much you want to spend and what exactly you want out of the program as there are some fairly high end programs out there with a lot of bells and whistles (e.g. tons of transitions etc..).

Just wondering what you all use for aftermarket batteries? I bought a couple here that were ebay brand and seem to be working fine but i need one more.

aftermarket batteries have shorter lives and longer charge times. try one out with high fps shooting or a big, power-hungry lens and you'll realize that you need at least two aftermarket batteries to make up for one OEM.

No Paypal at Amazon.

No bragging list - I just rent whatever the job requires.
