can anybody tell me why the neck strap that comes with the t2i has the word canon on the left side of the strap upside down.
has anybody noticed this?

I went and looked at the strap on my T2i and I couldn't see the upside down printing -
maybe because mine says PENTAX. I don't like to advertise, only confuse.

I hate the neck straps that come with the camera and eventually, you will too. I recently got the Black Rapid RS-7 and it really make a big difference. Not only is it more comfortable to wear, but I never have to worry about the straps getting in my way. If I want to take the strap off, it only takes a second to remove it. The only downside is the cost involved ($60) but considering I am always complaining about the stock strap getting in my way and how it makes my neck hurt, I justified the purchase.

I have to agree on all points.
If you're out and about for a few hrs with the camera around your neck, and you're sporting a heavy lens on it, it will become uncomfortable. Even with a light camera, like the T2i.
Can't imagine the prosumer, or FF guys...

I also use my camera for product shots, and use a tripod, where the permanently fastened strap, always seems to get in the way, when you're adjusting for a different angle, or shot, or it snags the tripod when you unclamp the camera to go transfer your shots to the computer, or change lenses.

And the 3rd aspect, is that you're 'broadcasting' than you shoot a "Canon EOS Digital". I hate that. It's amazing how guys with the yellow "Nikon" strap, will look you over.

Kinda like the Mustang and Camaro (club) thing at the stoplight.

I find it tiresome....

I'll be taking a look at a new strap soon, for all these reasons. But mainly, the comfort thing, and the ability to remove the strap with some clips.

.

I bet if you reverse the strap it will be right side up on the right side, but eos digital will be upside down.

Now there is a brain twister.

I quite often walk around for hours with my 5D with 100-400L attached. I use the standard strap for the camera, with a second strap to hold the lens from the tripod mount. With the load spread like that it's quite comfy, and I needn't worry about the lens mount being strained by the weight of the lens.

It doesn't matter what strap I use - Nikon guys can tell it's a Canon setup from the big white lens :)

that's what I do when I don't want any attention or what not. But yeah, a big white lens will give you away either way.

the RS-7 looks pretty good. the fact that you can attach several mini pockets is a plus..

You can also attach the Black Rapid straps to the bottom of the tripod mount. That way you can go from tripod to hand held in 2 seconds.

Any body know if Amazon will take Paypal?
i would like to get a grip and all i have is Paypal.
thx D

No Paypal at Amazon.

Simple solution - if your PayPal acct. is linked to your checking account, just ask PayPal to send you a debit card - IIRC, it's free, it's a Mastercard (or Visa?), and can be used like a credit card anywhere that MC or Visa is accepted.

Plus it gives you instant access to any funds that you may have in your PP account without needing to wait for a check or a transfer to your bank....just set a PIN number an use it at any ATM.

Good luck,
D.

Wow, what a nice picture! You must have a really great camera!

4 batterys verses 6 aa battery holder.
i have been checking the sites for a grip for my t2i.
found lots on e bay.
some come with 2 extra batterys and a 6 aa battery holder.
others come with 4 extra batterys but no 6 aa cell holder.
which would be the best one to get?
2 extra batterys and a 6 aa battery holder.
4 extra batterys and no aa battery holder.

More batterie, less AA. Those are used in emergency only.

if you take a close look the ones with the 4 batterys they load the batterys from the back and the one with two batterys load on a tray from the side like the one in the video.
