4 batterys verses 6 aa battery holder.
i have been checking the sites for a grip for my t2i.
found lots on e bay.
some come with 2 extra batterys and a 6 aa battery holder.
others come with 4 extra batterys but no 6 aa cell holder.
which would be the best one to get?
2 extra batterys and a 6 aa battery holder.
4 extra batterys and no aa battery holder.

I use the T2i grip that came with 2 extra batteries, AA cell holder for 6 cells, and the wired remote shutter release.

Ok Guys and gurls!!

Ive gone into STALL mode! Im there prepared to pay for my 550d (over the internet) and then i start to question myself about lenses!! ARRR!

The lens that has made me rethink is the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, im now thinking shall i buy body only and get that one, it seems a bit more all round rather than the kit lens and still go for the 55-250mm and EF 50mm f/1.8 II

Do i make sense! I know the 18-135mm will be bigger im ok with that but i think i would get more use out of it rather than the kit lens. UV lens covers and hoods have made me think arr im going to get some of these too. Its like its made me start again!

I knew i should of just got the camera and kit then i would of just added at a later date! :(

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you plan to get the 55-250, no need to get that 18-135. You'll pay more for it, and you will already have that range covered by the 55-250. I'd get 18-55. Oh and do not buy any cheap UV filter. It will do more bad than good. Buy only a good one, it will fit on other lenses ( 18-55, 55-250 ) Also, in my opinion no need for a hood on either the 18-55 or the 50mm. Those lens are really small, less chances to get bumped around. Sure, only you knoews yourself here so it's up to you.

The 18-55mm IS kit lens is a very good lens, unbelievable IQ for the price, I don't have any experience with the 18-135 but I do own the 55-250mm and is one of the best lens you can buy for under $300, I highly recommended. I still have the 18-55 kit lens but my main lens is the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 with the 55-250mm being my second favorite.

If you have the money, you can always buy body only, the Tamron 17-50 and the Canon 55-250. You'll be one happy camper if IQ is what your after!

And the Tamron 18-50 is one hell of a sharp lens. It's sharper than my 70-200. I love it!

Does it make sense to get the camera kit (with the 18-55) plus the Sigma 50-500?

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

that's a nice combo, be prepared to carry around the 50-500, it's heavy and it's big, tripod is a must.

My purpose in getting a cropped-sensor camera IS to get that reach. I'm probably going to get a 7D, but my mind is still open. I'm also keeping an eye on the latest cropped-sensor cameras from Nikon, which seem pretty darn good.

Rivest - I was thinking that about the range but my mind went blank, so i held back but you have kept me on line now. Also I will make sure i dont go cheap on a UV to now you have said, i was going to just pick a random one but if its going to hurt my pictures ill end up poking it with a twig!!

enrigonz - Good shout about the 17-50 Tamron and your right about the 55-250 im best getting the kit and that although im liking the Tamron now you have pointed it out. :)

Big Big Big Thanks!!!

I think ive found the best offer for me!

http://www.digitalrev.com …r-mack-warranty-7897.html (external link)

This has all the lenses i wanted plus some other bits and bobs, not sure about that bag tho i cant see it having a shoulder strap! ha!

What do you think all in at £864.46, Im quite happy with that bundle. Also this might sound daft, well it is daft, but that 55-250mm lens is a EF-S aint it and not just EF :-P

All i will need is a decent UV filter and POW ive done it! all this looking has sent me into a crazed state of madness! if anyone wants to point out a decent UV filter for the lenses it will make life a bit easier because i dont think i can look anymore! arrr :)

Thanks Everyone.

Good accessories!

Just a note: If you plan to be in US, ensure that you get the Original USA model. in the link present here it shows that the camera is a non-US market one. The model name provided is the one that got released in Japan, and per Canon USA, they wont support or service that model.

- just a word of caution so that you can call them and confirm.
