In any case, there is a one missing point here: I would buy the T2i only because of its sweet ISO range. The samples I've seen at 3200 are more than respectable.

We know that, if you shoot in the rain with a rebel it will die, if you are a proffesional a rebel will normally only be sufficiant as a backup camera unless you put 1k or more worth of glass on the end and when I do that it just feels wrong. How much extra do you think it costs? If you've got Live View then all the hardware required is already there, all you need is the firmware capable of capturing the data. And that's already written and requires minor adaptation. So adding video to a camera costs a couple of dollars, maybe? Frank Hollis - Retired mass spectroscopist

I care more about video right now as a future career and photography as a future hobby. And having a small portable VDSLR beats lugging around an XH A1 Camera Bodies: 7D, XSi

No Better ergonomics? Not really More fps? No Much Better Af? No Bettwe weather sealing? No Wireless flash control? No So what's the point? Anyways, I'm gonna use it for the video. They're both 1.6 crop caméra, I'd like to see the difference in the image quality if there is? If all you care about is video then yes just get the 550D. 7D | 50 f/1.4 | 85 f/1.8 | 135 f/2 L | 430EX II

Since you don't care about stills then obviously you won't get 'the point' of why a 7D is...well...a 7D. If you think a Rebel feels as good in the hands as a xxD or xD camera then you must have REALLY small hands ![]() As mentioned the 7D is geared towards a sports shooting with a semi-pro body camera. The Rebel line up is geared towards entry-level consumers. Apples to oranges. Yeah? Well you know, a video caméra, you mainly don't hold it. You get it to stand a support to make nice pan and traveling. So there is no point about complaining on the ergo here if you are anywhere to seriously shoot videos. By the way, I didn't say that I found the ergo as good as the other series of camera, just that I don't really need good ergo since it's mainly going to be on a support. And/Or with a grip, it makes good ergo anyways! EOS 5D, EOS A2e, 35L, 135L

You asked "what's the point". For you, and what you intend to use it for, i could see why you'd say that. Anything else and it's apples to oranges.
