Finally got my ebay grip the other day, for what it is, how much it costs and what it came with, its an awesome bargain. got 2 third party batteries, a remote trigger (gift) and the grip for 75USD. cant go wrong and everything works :)

having tried my mates genuine grip, id still settle for the third party grip!

I have the Phottix grip (46 GBP shipped) and it's the best thing ever, I found it fairly difficult to hold the 550D comfortably since I have fairly large hands and my little finger was always floating in the air - the grip makes a huge difference. The only con was the initial "chinese rubber" smell that went away after a couple days and the fact that the markings on the buttons are quickly fading but I really couldn't care less.

Plus.. the camera looks far more "pro" with the grip ;]

anyone have ay examples of the T2i with the 17-40L lens?

I am considering this as my next purchase and wanted to see how it performs on the T2i.. ?

any help here thanks

I haven't shot it yet but this is my main setup 17-40 on my T2i. I've owned the 17-40 before and it's super sharp, makes it a 25-65 f/4 on your T2i.

I got it from Canon directly. This isn't anywhere on line. I shoot alot and I am good friends with the Sales rep. The Reps get gear and shoot it at events, demo it etc. and can be rough on their gear since it's "loaner" from the company.

Well Japan boo boo'd and sent my friend two of these lenses. He shot one and the other sat in his office. O.k. so when new gear comes out the the previous models are discontinued, they need to sell them.
He called me to tell me the the Mark II replaced this lens and it's now discontinued and he offered it to me. The gear is sold half at price. So, I pick him lunch and he sold me a brand new 70-200 f/2.8 IS. I'm very grateful because there's high demand for Rep gear, especially since it's new.

I'm still in awe. On my T2i with 640x480 crop mode it's like a 1400mm. I sold my 1Ds Mark II to shoot this T2i, the camera is amazing for the value.
I'm glad I had the cash cause I almost bought the Elinchrom Ringflash.

I also picked up some P&S cameras for like $80 a SD1200 and the other one I forgot and I gifted them.
So there ya go, unless you know a Canon sales rep you can't find a deal like this.

Placed an order on this camera on june 15th. I bought the body only and got the rebate printer with it. I went ahead and went on amazon to buy the 50mm f1.8 lens instead of getting the kit lens. The printer and lens came, but the camera is still back ordered..... =(
