Hi,I wanna ask.

When I hold my 550D,and I shake it,it seems to be a sound coming out from the camera body. Do you guys have the problem also? What could be the possible reason? Where does the sound coming from?

Thanks ! :D

I used my EF 70-200mm F/4 L IS with a Hoya HD Circular Polarizer.

Shot at 1/640sec f/4.0, ISO 100

You can find the rest on my Flickr page !

I am quite surprised with the autofocus, people keeps saying how rebels suck but I think it's very good :p

Hi yall this is my first post in these fourms. Im a video engieneer by trade that has always liked taking stills. Im looking to get into the DSLR world and i think i have settled on the t2i for my first camera. Even tho its my first camera i have a pretty good knowledge of photography, simply because video and still cameras share a lot of technology. And of course framing and shot compostion has some simlarites between the 2. with that said what i dont have knowledge of is lensing and what are good ones to start with. this kit on EBAY seems like a great starter set.

http://cgi.ebay.com …meras&hash=item414e21792b (external link)

now. i am going to be shooting plenty of video on this camera, so keep that in mind when i ask my questions. i shoot lots of Wakeboarding, MX and other action sports. I want to get into studio work aswell as landscape, and nature. Basically i will be very diverse in what i shoot. But action sports will be the primary to start.
So my questions are these.
1. are the 2 lenses that comes with that package i listed before fast focusing ? shooting action the focus needs to be sharp and fast, so i cant have any dog slow lenses in my bag?
2. be it that these arent the top of the line 2.8 apertures how will they perform in not optimal natural lighting conditions?
3. for stuido work can this body trigger multiple flashes, or do i have to get softboxes that has constant light goin?
4. should i bite the bullet and buy the 7d ? or is the t2i a solid camera. the 100% price increase is a lot but it seems like the technonlgy isnt all that different, cept the fps. which is great on the 7d. But like a year or 2 ago 3.7 was considered very fast. So do i really need the 8fps ?
5. Should i not get this package and just buy the body and get other lenses ?
6. any other input would be great. im all ears for what ever you guys can tell me. thanks a lot in advance, and Hi to all my fellow DSLR users, i already learned a lot reading your posts, and i cant wait to learn more from all of u !

Chuck, the only one I can comment on is #5. I bought almost similar package deal to the one you posted. Same type of lens (18-55 and 55-250), while ok in terms of price point, I think you are better off just buying the body with just kit lens just to get a feel for how the camera works. After that maybe you can decide which lens is better for your needs. The backpack, hard case, wide angle and telephoto lens (adapters) mini travel tripod are pretty useless. The back pack might be too small for your liking especially if you are going to buy more stuff for your camera. The flash, don't even bother. the lens cleaning stuff and LCD protectors are useless too.

The SD card (looks exactly the same posted on ebay) is not indicated what class type it is. Since you are shooting video, I would recommend class 10 and up. The SD card that comes with these type of package deals are not guaranteed to have a fast memory. Take note, the one that came with my package says it's class 6 but it can't even record more than 4 seconds of video (30 fps 1080p). After I bought my class 10 16 gb, I was able to record at least more than 5 minutes continuously.

Just a heads up, the t2i's built in mic captures the noise coming from the lens and the body when recording so you might want to look at an external mic of some sort.

BOttom line, If you can find a deal with just the kit lens and extra batteries (which I think is the most important) I think that's the best deal package wise. The USB card reader is pretty useful at times but then again most computers already have SD ports. IF not, you can always get a cheap one from walmart and it will work just fine

ChuckButta I like yourself am a video guy that likes to take stills. I bought the T2i as an affordable way to shoot HD video and to be able to take advantage of swapping lenses and getting nice shallow depth of field. This preview for my web series Haywire (external link) was shot on the T2i.

The fact that the kit lenses aren't the best out there doesn't really bother me yet because the camera itself is very good at using low light. I wouldn't recommend setting the camera to auto because in low light it'll just increase the ISO and your footage will be grainy. Grainy footage from an HD camera is not acceptable to me but your own use may be a little more lenient.

If yoo do just buy the body and get the better lenses you'll probably spend as much as yoo would for the 7D but you'll have a lot more when it's all said and done.

And WARAT is right except for the SD cards all that other stuff in the package is so cheesy and pretty much useless. Definitely go for class 10 cards if yoo can get 'em cheap.

As far as a microphone goes I'd puickup yourself up a RODE video mic (external link).
Here is some concert footage (external link) I shot with the T2i and my RODE. I was about 15 feet from the stage and the audience speakers and I think the RODE did a great job of capturing the sound.

Thanks for the RODE video mic lufaine. I was actually looking for one. I'm getting tired of the noise from the camera. Even my breathing at times is recorded on the video.. LOL
