Great concert sound quality. The average video recording distorts concert sound so bad that you usually can't make out the vocals. I like the bands' reference to the narration at the beginning of Van Damme's movie Cyborg. :)

As far as conversions, I use FormatFactory to convert most of my music and video. It handles most formats and offers a lot of conversion options. Best of all, it's freeware. And there are no time limitations or watermarks. If you can find version 2.20, opt for that over the latest version 2.30.

"Here is some concert footage (external link) I shot with the T2i and my RODE. I was about 15 feet from the stage and the audience speakers and I think the RODE did a great job of capturing the sound.

I would be interested in knowing your workflow with the video. I recently took footage of a vacation on my T2i and am pulling my hair out trying to get the best quality video trying to convert .mov files to .avi to use is a workable edit program. What video editing program do you use and what kind of conversions? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reference. The latest version seems to be 2.40 and I can't find any earlier versions. Why do you suggest 2.20 over 2.30?

Anyone know why I am not able to download the firmware? The download link just leads me to a blank white page and nothing happens.

Hey I just want something that is versitile!
Any recomendations?

Have you considered the EF-S 18-135mm IS or the EF-S 18-200 IS ?
Both about the same dimensions, so just depends if you want to spend a bit more for the extra reach :)

Is that what movie that's from? I had no idea.

I've been using Canopus which I didn't pay for but I don't think is freeware.

Thanks for the reference. The latest version seems to be 2.40 and I can't find any earlier versions. Why do you suggest 2.20 over 2.30?

Every version I used up to 2.30 has had a smooth install with the option to disable the little ebay desktop icon option (freeware needs sponsors too), but version 2.30 was hit and miss with some people on it installing a browser ad-in (not malware, but annoying all the same). A few of us had the problem, most did not. I'll have to check 2.40 to see if they cleaned that up. Otherwords it has been an excellent program.

Number of continuous shots you can take before the buffer fills up. RAW maxes out at 6, 9 actually means "more than 9".

And yes, it's in the manual somewhere ;]
