Second time's a charm! Here are a couple of quick shots of the Space Shuttle launch from this morning. These were taken from the NASA causeway with a 50D and a Canon 400mm f/5.6 lens and a Canon 1.4x extender at ISO 800, 1/400 sec at f/8.

This was definitely worth staying up all night for 2 nights in a row! This was my first night launch and easily the most awesome thing I have witnessed. These images were just cropped and converted to jpg from raw; I will process them and repost updated versions when I get home from sunny Orlando.

C&C is always welcome and appreciated.

I was across the Indian river... those are beautiful shots. I wish I would have been on the opposite side, but I really didn't feel like spending the money for a pricey ticket.

Nice capture Could be a historical shot for you.. I heard this was the very last night time/ in the dark, shuttle launch that NASA would conduct.

It's actually about a 20 second delay until the sound reaches you (I was about 6-7 miles away)... it's pretty intense once it does.
