Thanks, I struggled with white balance. It still looks a bit yellow to me :(

Keith, thanks for the kind words. #1 and #2 are with a 300 2.8; while #3 and #4 are with the 70-200.

Those are awesome Tom.

#1 looks great. WB looks great too. Probably seems warm due to capturing both the warm sun and cool shade, I would rather see it shifted a bit warm that shifted a bit too cool.

The first is: iso 400 1/5000 @f3.5 with a plus 1 2/3 ( I should have lowered the iso a bit)
The second is: iso 200 1/2000 @f4.0 with a plus 1 2/3
The third is: iso 400 1/2000 @4.0 with a plus 2
The fourth is: iso 200 1/1600 @f4.0 with a plus 1 2/3

thanks for looking :D

I'm not sure where your seeing blown highlights? Looks good to me. For this type of shot I wouldn't worry about backgrounds being blown out, etc. Subject is good, and in those conditions with strong shadows and strong highlights you can't ask for much more. Much different than portraiture. And remember if your not on a color managed browser like firefox, and a non-calibrated screen you may not see things just right.

Look at post #8 for the settings.

well i use the spider 2 every month but i am using safari so that could be my problem.i agree that the subject looks good i just thought that it looks blown out just needs more contrast.

BEFORE

AFTER

I don't know i think this looks better to me or it could just be my screen. i just took a few seconds putting this together so its not perfect just how i was trying to say earlier.
